Why Work with Us?

Our mission is to increase the quality of life of people and their dogs through affordable, easy to understand, motivation-based dog training.

Increase Your Quality of Life.

There are 4 primal elements to quality of life: education, expression, health, and security. Our system of dog training covers the whole spectrum!

  • We open up a line of communication between the handler and the dog through obedience. Education eliminates confusion. Eliminating confusion is the first step to eliminating frustration and creating harmony.

  • We encourage dogs to express their primal instincts and desires rather than suppressing them. It's important that dogs have the opportunity to build their personalities, explore, and experience the world. However, the world can be dangerous, and it's systematic obedience that allows us to give our dogs freedom AND stay safe. On top of that, dogs WANT to work! It's in their nature. It's just a matter of finding the right job for them.

  • Having the obedience necessary to allow your dog to run and exercise is wonderful, but it's also amazing for their mental health. Without clear communication, dogs are in a constant guessing game of how to get what they want, and this can often lead to frustration. Both physical and mental stimulation are fundamental necessities for fulfillment.

  • Our system passively builds the dog's confidence, giving them a sense of security and safety. The dog knows what to do and how to react to any situation because we’re able to coach them through it. Our system of obedience also gives the handler peace of mind knowing that with proper handling, they can take their dog just about anywhere and handle any situation.

It’s Easy to Understand.

We break down complicated, high caliber dog training concepts into the simplest terms and applications. We teach our system in a way that can be understood and applied by the whole family!

It’s Affordable & Sustainable.

We pride ourselves in offering fair, competitive rates for all our services. We offer a free consultation and don’t charge extra for behavior modification cases. Dog training is a marathon, and it’s more important to us that our clients are able to stay in the race.

It’s Motivation Based.

Training is fun and rewarding for dogs! At Companion Canine we find what motivates your dog so they can work, learn, and have fun all at the same time.

Testimonials

  • I sent my dog to Companion Canine for a three week board and train and I couldn't be happier with not only the results, but the entire process. Prior to finding Becky and Gueseppe I had said I would never send my dog to a board and train and I meant it! But what Companion Canine offers is radically different from your average BnT. I liked the fact that my dog would be living in their home with their dogs and working on our goals in a thoughtful, measured environment; not locked in a kennel for most of the day getting no exercise or socialization and losing his house manners.

They spoke with me at length about my dog, our life, our problems and our goals. They never promised a quick fix (which would have been a red flag,) but instead explained their methods and were very clear about the work we would have to do at home to achieve our goals. I never once felt judged or talked down to in our conversations, and I can't say the same for other trainers I interviewed.

At the end of the three weeks I was so impressed with what they had accomplished! One of my major goals was neutrality around people and dogs and hot dang if we don't have an incredible foundation for that now. I was able to walk my dog through a bustling tourist town on a weekend, something that would not have been possible before his trip to the farm!

A big part of that success is the time Companion Canine spent coaching ME, making sure I understood how to handle these situations and what would work best for my dog. What I have learned has not only made my life with my dog better, but I know will have a positive impact on my future dogs as well.

Becky and Gueseppe still answer my texts and emails in depth any time I have questions, and the support they offer is truly invaluable. Any time I have an issue they are always there to help, coming up with creative solutions to whatever we're going through.

I count myself lucky to have found them and intend to continue using their services to level up throughout the life of my dog.

  • As experienced dog owners, we finally hit a wall with training the latest addition to our family, a pitty mix. Although we were able to train him to be obedient at home, his behavior wasn't nearly as good in new environments, especially around other dogs and new people. His excessive energy and lack of social manners made outings difficult, and we found ourselves leaving our pup at home more than we wanted to. That wasn't the life we imagined for our dog or our family so we decided to enroll him in a board and train with Becky and Gueseppe.

They asked us what our goals were and customized our pups training to meet those goals. We also loved being able to follow his progress on Instagram. When it was time to take our pup home, Becky & Gueseppe took the time to go over everything with us. They even took us into town and guided us through training and handling our pup in a public place. Downtown Jacksonville happened to be crowded that day and full of holiday activity. This was the type of environment we dreaded the most and where our pup usually loses all his focus and manners. That anxiety quickly went away as we were able to walk our pup past other dogs and people on a loose leash without any drama.

The transformation in just a few weeks was amazing! Our pitty returned home with newfound confidence and is calm and well mannered in social settings. They've given us the foundation so we can confidently take him everywhere we go. I can't begin to explain how life-changing it's been for our family and our pup. We especially appreciated how they welcomed our dog into their home and treated him as they would their own. It was comforting to know he wasn't locked in a kennel most of the day like they do at other B&T programs. Companion Canine exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend them to others. Thank you B&G!

  • Where do I even start?! Companion Canine's board and train program was literally life-changing for my family and pup. When we rescued our pit-mix Petey at almost 4-months old, we had big dreams of what his life would look like with our family. We are experienced dog owners and were confident in our basic dog-training skills. However, Petey is unlike any dog we have ever had! He became difficult to handle and our training techniques fell short.

Becky and Gueseppe understand dogs better than anyone I've ever seen. They are truly passionate about giving all dogs the best, most fulfilling life possible through obedience training. They are so kind and treat their board and train dogs as if they were their own which gave us so much peace of mind.

Their training practices absolutely exceeded any expectations! In only 2 weeks, Petey came back a completely different pup. He was confident, obedient, and actually loved his training sessions! They made use of every second of his stay, everything they do is intentional to improve the dog's confidence, indifference, obedience, and calm state of mind. What really made the transition back home seamless was the take-home session when we picked him up. They take so much time to go over every detail of his training, basically teaching us everything he learned and how to handle him to ensure his success at home. They even checked in on us after few days later and asked us about and difficulties or kinks in his transition and helped us work through them.

Their passion and knowledge for dogs makes them a no-brainer choice for dog training, and we are just obsessed with them! If I could give 10 stars I would! I will be sending every dog I ever own to them, worth every damn penny.

  • Becky assisted us in training our Brittany (Ms Millie) to go on walks without pulling or keeping a taut leash. Over a period of six lessons we are now on a path that alleviates the pulling and provides attentiveness to us when doing myriad activities. My wife and I I highly recommend Becky and Companion Canine Dog Training to assist you in solving behavioral issues with your furry family member, and also training you to be a good provider.

  • Wish we could give more than 5 stars. We have worked with a few dog trainers trying to find what works best and aligns with us and our dogs at the animal shelter. Working with Becky was hands down the best experience we've had with a dog trainer. Nobody had inspired us the way that Becky & Gueseppe did. We left every single session excited to train more and wanting to learn more. Companion Canine builds your training plan based on your dog specifically and your goals. They help you to identify what motivates your dog, how to apply that to your training, and they make training FUN for the person AND the dog. While they do treat every dog as individual, they also helped us by providing us with tools and knowledge we can use with every dog that comes through our shelter. They just genuinely care about dogs and their people. They want to see you and your dog succeed and they support you through the entire journey! We are grateful to have found Companion Canine. Thank you times a million!!

  • i HIGHLY recommend Companion Canine for any type of dog training needs. G is very patient, kind and knowledgeable about correcting any Behavioral issues by Implementing supportive and positive methods that truly work. You can level up your dog’s obedience by training.

Can you safely allow your dog enjoy off-leash freedoms? Could you to take them to the beach, or bring them along for a peaceful hike, or enjoy a relaxing day by the lake with them?

You can do what you want, without the worry, through dog training.

  • Sometimes training doesn’t stick for a number of reasons.

If you did group classes, maybe you and your dog would benefit from 1-on-1 coaching. While group classes are great for proofing established obedience, they are not the ideal environment for learning new skills.

If you did private training, perhaps the quality of training wasn’t the best. There is a lot of misinformation in the dog training world. Or maybe you weren’t able to keep up the training daily at home because it was confusing or too much work.

With our 11 years of professional experience, we teach you what works, and how to integrate it into every day life so your dog never goes backwards.
